The importance of achieving at least 96% attendance

There is strong evidence to show that attending school regularly, for above 96% of the time, leads to improved examination results and future employment prospects. This means missing no more than 8 school days per academic year. Holidays taken during term time appear to be a significant reason why some pupils’ attendance falls below 96%. At Parkside, we do not authorise term time holidays unless there are exceptional circumstances.  If you need to apply for a holiday, please fill in the appropriate form and also write a letter to the school Headteacher.
